What is your favourite thing about being a support worker?
I get inner happiness that I’m able to help and support people with their care needs
You can actually look after someone and are able to make a difference towards that person’s life
I love working with my participants, I love getting them out and about. Like we go to different coffee shops and we go all over the coast. We don’t just sit at home in the four walls or go to the same places all the time we get out and do everything
I’m happy when I see the support that I give to people and the smile and the difference that it comes with it or the difference that it affects their lives
When you do these roles, you get to learn a lot of things. It’s not like food industry where you just see people and then you forget about them. It’s kind of building relationship and how you uplift their daily living and help with all kinds of activities they want to do
I have passion in supporting people with both physical and intellectual disabilities
